World Year of Physics Calendar 2005:
Students aged 12-17 create a calendar sheet for each day of the year based on important, physics-related events or persons related to the respective day. The best results will be published in a daily newspaper.

Multi-media presentation: “Physics in Austria”.
A multimedia based CD or DVD containing all information regarding actual research in Austria will be provided as a basis for policy makers, industries, the media and/or teachers.

Physics truck:
A truck with physics experiments will tour through Austria. Special presentations will be provided for schools.

Physics event: ÖPG 2005 in Vienna, from September 26- 29, 2005.
The annual meeting of the Austrian Physical Society takes place at the University of Vienna. Besides a conventional scientific conference physics presentations from universities, research centres, major companies, and schools will be given to the public.

“A night of Physics”:
At the night of April 19, 2005, when the light signal of the project “Physics enlightens the world” reaches Austria, spectacular physics presentations will be shown at public places in all major cities from about 7 pm till the light signal passes through.

Physics talent search:
Austria participates in the Physics talent search, starting with an information campaign in September 2004. A junior Physics camp will be held in June 2005 to nominate the “Austrian Young Physics Ambassadors”.

Physics as a cultural heritage:
During the European Science Week in October 2005 Austria will present parts of the cultural heritage project at the University of Vienna, entitled “From the harmony of spheres to entangled states”.

Public presentation of physics:
In all major cities public presentations of physics (demonstrations, hands-on experiments, discussions) will be organized during the whole year. A special event-calendar will inform the public about activities all over the country.

Physics and schools:
Universities and research centres will provide special tours for students, physics days will be performed in schools with scientists as special guests.

Physics for industry:
Workshops for small enterprises should inform people from industry about research topics and collaboration possibilities with universities and research centres.

Physics in shop windows:
In connection with special events shop windows display physical apparatus or tools related with physics.

Physics in the pub:
Scientists visit small communities to discuss physical topics in restaurants, coffe shops or pubs.

Physics and arts:
A physics obelisk and music performances are planned so far.

Public talks, workshops and scientific meetings:
All over the year 2005 public talks as well as workshops and meetings for different target groups will be organized.

Scientific Forum", a two-days' meeting organized during the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)'s General Conference in September 2005 (see the poster by clicking here).
