In order to celebrate the WYP, the physics teacher team from National College “Mircea cel Batran” from Constantza, Romania, decided to develop the following program:

  • Organize a permanent poster exhibition in our college about Albert Einstein: life and scientific opera (from the end of February to December 2005). A CD with Power Point presentation with the same content will be also realized and offered to pupils form village schools in our county.

  • Organize a poster competition for students, about the impact of physics in our everyday life (first week in march, 2005).

  • Open a web site: www.profizica.ro (first week in February, 2005) were to present our results and ideas.

  • Organize a photography competition realized by students with the same theme as the poster competition. The photos will be posted on our site and will be organized in a permanent photo gallery  (from 01.03. to 20.12 2005).

  • Organize public conferences about Albert Einstein and his opera (last week in May  and last week in October, 2005).

  • Organize a  Scientific Session for Students and Teachers dedicated  to WYP inside The Collegium’s Days – a traditional anniversary celebrated in our school each year in the last week of May.

  • Realizing a book containing a large collection of physics problems created by our teachers -  including  complete solutions (end of November, 2005).

  •  Organize an Interactive  Physics Competition for students from anywhere: physics problems will be presented on our site, were students will present their solutions. The best of them will be recompensed with diplomas.

  • Organize visits with teachers and students in Physics laboratories from “OVIDIUS” University of Constantza, Maritime University of Constantza and at the Nuclear Power Station from City of Cernavoda,  Constantza County.

  • Organize two scientific expeditions: In Biosphere Reservation  Danube Delta (16 – 22 June 2005) and in “Apuseni “ Mountains, Padish Zone (01 – 10 August, 2005) in order to estimate the influence of  human activity factors over natural ecosystems.

  • Organize a science club (applied physics - on 15 January 2005 began activity) developing themes like: a) How to repair an electric / electronic source. b) How to built an aerodynamic tunnel. c) Optical manipulations of microstructures, and the list is open for later developments.

We are opened to other interesting activities and we are waiting the response of physics teacher community from our city and from everywhere, also we accept ideas from students. The team that started  this program:

about 30 students from National College “Mircea cel Batran” – Constantza, Romania. Their CV will be posted soon in our site, witch is in construction.

  • “Making Physics Available to Children”
    Contact: Liliana Ciascai
    Event place: Romania

  • Dates: 2005, April 18-23

Description: Pupils in our country’s schools were taught to build some handmade didactic devices: ”The magnetic boat”, ”The jet boat”, ”The Scales”, “The Steel Yard”, “The rocking chair”,  ”The electroscope”, ”The phone with a pencil”, etc. The activities with these topics initiate or ask children to use their physics knowledge, to develop their practical abilities, creativity, they are demanding and funny. Easter celebrations and the International year of physics can be good opportunities for such actions in which students of different schools can be solidar with those in difficulty. Thus experienced students in the field of achieving and presenting handmade devices can use their knowledge to offer the children with special needs, orphans, children in hospitals- not only sweets, money and old toys - but knowledge and entertainment, involving them in mentioned activities.
